Short Stories


This writing project is based on the research findings from
THEP Creative Approaches to Teaching Grammar Pilot Project (2017-2018)

The training will address the following:

  • Exploring effective composition: forming, articulating and communicating ideas; and organising them coherently for a reader
  • Drawing on independent reading to inform vocabulary and grammar choices to impact a reader
  • Growing independence as a writer, including using the editing process to improve writing

The benefits of attending this training are:

  • Understanding the role of linked reading to improve written outcomes
  • Sharing successful outcomes and practice with other teachers
  • End of project publication to share in school and across partnerships

This course is suitable for:

  • Year 6 teachers
  • English leads and/or phase leaders

Cost of course:

£200.00 (THEP Schools) per delegate (for the three sessions)
